Dr.Jack SameckDVMOwner / Senior Veterinarian
After graduating from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975, Dr. Jack Sameck served as a captain with the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps before returning home to Florida. Subsequently, he worked as a veterinary associate in the Gainesville area before purchasing Gainesville Animal Hospital in 1982. In 2005, Dr. Sameck aquired Archer Animal Hospital which was founded by Dr. Michael Harbin in 1986.
Dr. Sameck’s mission has always been to provide optimal veterinary care to his patients while also serving his clients and the community. In 1983, he founded the Interlachen Veterinary Clinic, and in 1989 he established Gainesville Animal Hospital West. Dr. Sameck is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and Business Network International (BNI), Chapter 212.
On a personal note, Dr. Sameck and his wife April have five children; Abby, Amy, Jacob, Karen, and Tommy. The Sameck’s also have two adorable schnauzer puppies, Baby and Dolly. Dr. Sameck enjoys golfing, fishing, and traveling with his family.
Dr.Ray SujdakDVMSenior Veterinarian
Dr. Ray Sujdak was born and raised in New England, but relocated to Gainesville to attend Veterinary School. After graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, he practiced in Gainesville and Ocala areas. During these years, he developed a special interest in oncology and chemotherapy.
In 1995, upon deciding to establish roots in Gainesville, he joined Gainesville Animal Hospital. Here he has settled with his wife and two children, as well as two cats. During his free time, Dr. Sujdak enjoys spending time with his family, playing strategic simulation games, and playing paintball. He works primarily at the East location.
Dr. Hampton started working at Gainesville Animal Hospital in June 2016. He is a native Floridian and grew up in Tallahassee, FL where he lived for 16 years and was raised a Seminole under his parent’s influence. Dr. Hampton quickly found his calling after volunteering at a vet clinic one summer and decided to become a family traitor…Go Gators! After receiving his bachelor's degree from UF in animal biology with a minor in chemistry, he went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Hampton has lived in Gainesville for over 10 years. He met his wife, Erin, during their undergraduate studies in Gainesville. They both went on to receive their DVM from UF. They live with their 4 wonderful fur children: Colby, Kane, Bella, and Izzy. That’s a full house with three dogs and a cat!
Dr. Hampton has a special interest in veterinary dentistry and business management which led him to pursue his Veterinary Business Management Certificate at the UFCVM. This included working on a project to evaluate the benefits of dental radiography for pets. Ask today how he can help keep your pet’s teeth happy and healthy! In his free time, Dr. Hampton enjoys playing golf and softball. He also enjoys camping, hiking, and anything Gator related. He works primarily at the East and West locations.
Dr. Fleming is from Fox Lake, IL. She moved to Ft. Pierce, Florida with her family in 2001, where she graduated high school and went on to attend the University of Florida in 2004. Dr. Fleming is a triple gator, graduating with her bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degree from the University of Florida. Professionally, her interests include surgery and emergency medicine. In her free time, she enjoys almost anything outdoors and spending time with her husband, Josh and her dogs Samson and Patches. Dr. Fleming works primarily at the Archer location.
Dr. Axiak is a 2011 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical studies at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation she completed a lameness and surgery internship at the University of Florida and then she completed a second internship focused on diagnostic imaging. She also serves as a Veterinary Officer for the U.S. Army Reserves.
Her professional interests include preventative care, dentistry and diagnostic imaging. When she is not caring for animals she enjoys running with her dog Marvin, spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Axiak joined the Gainesville Animal Hospital team in 2017 and works primarily at the Archer location.
